Commander Nzimande gave his all for the organization

Operation Dudula is still in loss of words at the sudden passing away of one of their dedicated and trusted commanders, Kwazi Jeffery Nzimande . According to his friend and fellow member at the organisation’s Johannesburg Inner City Branch, Mbongiseni Sibiya, Nzimande died on the 19th March 2025, at the South Rand Hospital, after some diabetis complications.

“I visited him in his flat and found him seriously ill and even unable to speak. Without asking for his permission,I quickly called the ambulance. While waiting for the ambulance to come, I looked for his clothes and dressed him. After finishing dressing him, he asked me not to forget his blanket because it’s cold and he may not come back. Maybe because I’m still young and was confused at the same time, I couldn’t process that statement. I still have his last voice message on my phone, promising me that he will be okay. It never crossed my mind, that was his last goodbye. I’m very divastated because I was very close to him, though he was much older than me.”explained Sibiya holding his tears from his eyes.
Born and bred in Kwamgwagwa rural village on the outskirts of Pietermaritzburg ( where he was also laid to rest last Saturday), his village childhood friends described the late 57 year old Nzimande as good person but one who was not a coward to face battle. " We never had any problems with him when we grew up with him,but he was brave and not scared to fight, we played soccer together a lot in our neighborhood. My friend was a staunch Sundowns supporter" said one of his friends who identified himself as Gatyeni.

One of the NEC members, Bhekani Thusi, (who also acted as MC at the Funeral service), described Nzimande as an asset to the organization. "We lost a very hard working warrior in Mphephetwa, he was very instrumental in our physical operations that we conduct all the time. We will miss his heroic deeds" explained Thusi.
KZN Provincial Convener, Sicelo Mlaba, gave a resounding speech and encouraged people to wake up and defend their country from illegal immigrants. “People of South Africa let's not be cowards, let's wake up and fight. It can't be right that I'm afraid even to walk down Church Street, because I'm going to be mugged by foreign illegal criminals. Our people are unemployed and live in poverty. We have done operations in some firms around the province, where we found only illegal immigrants were employed there. We chased them away and put South Africans. We will still continue with those operations. But also, our sisters are selling the country by being in love with these people, they must please stop that" he said.

Alice Mahlaba who represented Bree Taxi Rank Traders, was very impressed with the way Operation Dudula conducted Nzimande's Funeral service. From now on, I'm Operation Dudula member. I will recruit for them. These people have shown that they have love for our people and country at heart. I will support and attend their programs" she said excitedly.
Kwazi Jeffery Nzimande leaves behind his wife and disabled child, plus two siblings, brother and a sister.
